
William Aumonier Jnr. was the youngest son of the woodcarver and sculptor William Aumonier (1839-1914) [also known as William Aumonier Snr.]. He was born in Marylebone, London, England on 14 November 1869 and studied at the West London School of Art. In 1891 he joined his father in the family architectural sculpture business which was renamed William Aumonier & Son. William Aumonier Jnr was a member of the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society with whom he exhibited in 1890, and, in 1914 was elected a member of the Art Workers Guild. He was also a member of the Master Carvers Association and the Architectural Association. Between 1898 and 1905 he taught at Camberwell School of Art. He was editor of Modern Sculpture (London: Architectural Press, 1930).
He died in London on 7 December 1943. His address at the time of his death was 93 Fordwych Road, West Hampstead, London.
