Oil and watercolour painter who was for many years curator of The Watts Gallery, established to commemorate the Victorian painter G F Watts, at Compton, Surrey. Alston studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. Showed at the RA and NEAC, sometimes signing work RWA. Lived at Compton.
