Sculptor, medallist, scholar and musician, born and lived in Glasgow, one of several gifted sisters, among them Ella Alexander, who created something of a salon in the city. Elizabeth attended Glasgow School of Art, 1887–91, and was also a talented cellist. In 1934, she received an honorary degree from Glasgow University, which holds medals by her. She was a member of the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists, also exhibiting at RSA, RSW, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and at Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
