Painter, who studied fine art at the City & Guilds of London Art School, then the Royal Academy Schools. In 1976 he won the David Murray Award for Landscape Painting, in 1977 the Richard Ford Award for travel in Spain. Mixed shows included RA Summer Exhibition and Anna-Mei Chadwick, both 1997. Solo exhibitions included Arun Art Centre, Arundel Festival, 1983; Judd Street Gallery, 1989; Terrace Gallery, Worthing, from 1990; and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, 2001.
