With a flat back, the carved relief design on front features two female figures (supporters) with three feathers each on their heads, wearing flowing gowns. Each has a hand resting on a shield between them, which is quartered with the arms, presumably, of the Scotts of Buccleuch. The shield is surmounted by a crown. Above the crown in a helmet and above that a deer.
