Painter and draughtsman, born and lived in London, who studied at the Byam Shaw School of Painting and Drawing, 1988–91, and Slade School of Fine Art, 1991–3. She won the Graham Hamilton Drawing Prize in 1991; a residency at Djerassi Artists’ Foundation, Woodside, California, America, 1998; and an award at Cheltenham & Gloucester Open Drawing Show, 1999. Exhibitions included Ben Uri Gallery from 1991; Into the Nineties, Mall Galleries, 1993; Café Gallery, 1994; and In the Looking Glass, Usher Gallery, Lincoln, and tour, from 1996. This included Blane’s Expressionistic Self-Portrait, of 1993. Mouths and heads were key features of her work, as “I am a very oral person.” Had a solo show at Curwen Gallery, 1995, others in 1997 at 231 St John Street and Shillam and Smith.
