Sherborne Museum is a volunteer-run community museum displaying artefacts reflecting local heritage. There is a large art collection, including oil paintings, of scenes of the town and surrounding landscapes, mainly by local artists.
Sherborne Museum is open from Easter to Christmas, Tuesday–Saturday, 10.30am–4.30pm; winter opening Tuesday and Thursday 10.30am–12.30pm. Private visits can be arranged. Many of the paintings are housed in the museum store and are accessible with prior notification (01935 812252), while the medieval wall painting is on display at all times.
