Sadly, Ramsgate Library, Museum and Art Gallery's painting collection was almost completely destroyed by fire on 13th August 2004. The three surviving paintings from this collection are 'Lifeboat Leaving Harbour' by S. Broome, 'Stranger in the Woods' by Dorothy Mostyn and 'Montefiore House, Ramsgate, Kent' by an unknown artist. Any enquiries relating to either the surviving paintings, or those which did not survive, should be addressed to Ramsgate Library.
