More about

The Glencoe and North Lorn Folk Museum holds a richly diverse collection of paintings of assorted styles, periods and subject matter. It includes works by the artists Hugh Paton, Horatio McCulloch and William Douglas Macleod. The Glencoe Museum was co-founded in 1966 by Miss Barbara Fairweather, MBE, and Mrs Rae Grant with the aim to collect paintings and objects ‘relevant to the history and social conditions of the Glencoe and North Lorn district for the purposes of education and interest.’ Works from the collection capture local scenes, buildings and the people of the area for the appreciation of future generations. Many of the works in the collection have been collected from the Glencoe area and donated by local people. This generosity continues today and the ongoing addition of new acquisitions enables the collection to develop and expand.
