The Faculty of History is one of the largest and best history departments in the world and boasts a series of renowned historians such as Lord Acton, G. M. Trevelyan, Herbert Butterfield, Geoffrey Elton and J. H. Plumb. The portrait of Seeley is part of a large collection nurturing teaching and research within the Faculty.
