Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education provides a day and residential primary school, secondary school and further education college for deaf students. The four paintings in the collection depict previous headmasters at the school, the earliest being of H. P. Bingham who was headmaster between 1827 and 1834, and the latest being of H. P. Jones who was headmaster until 1996.
