More about

Lichfield District Council is responsible for a number of artefacts that belonged to the former City Museum which finally closed its doors in 1988. Since then the collection has continued to grow, acquiring over many years by gift, donation or loan, items from individuals living in or having a connection with the district. Most of the collection was housed in the museum on the top floor of the old Library on Beacon Street until its closure. Many items of interest are currently on loan to local museums and other venues offering public access, while a small number of items remain in storage.
