Sarah MacDougall is Director of Scholarship at Ben Uri Gallery and Museum, heading the Ben Uri Research Unit for the Study of the Jewish and Immigrant Contribution to the Visual Arts in Britain since 1900, and collections and exhibition programming. Her specialisms include the 'Whitechapel boy' generation (Mark Gertler, David Bomberg, Isaac Rosenberg, Clare Winsten, et al.) and artist refugees from Nazism including Eva Frankfurther. Her recent exhibitions include A Brush with Evil: Laura Knight at The Nuremberg Trial, contextualised with Ben Uri Collection works exploring the Second World War on the homefront (2023).
