Dr Sally Tuckett is a lecturer in dress and textile histories at the University of Glasgow. She has researched and published on the clothing and textile cultures of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Scotland, from tartan to Ayrshire whitework, looking at how knowledge of cloth and clothing can improve our understanding of the past. She is currently working on a study which looks at the links between Scottish linen in the eighteenth century and the enslaved people of North America.

In 2018 she worked with Historic Royal Palaces to create 'A History of Royal Fashion', a free online course which explored the royal wardrobes of the British monarchy from Henry VIII to the Windsors.
