Penelope Curtis is currently a fellow at the National Gallery of Art in Washington. She was previously director of the Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon and of Tate Britain. She has written extensively on sculpture; her last book Sculpture Vertical, Horizontal, Closed, Open was published by Yale in 2017.
