Dr Naomi Lebens leads the Culture Team at Royal Holloway, University of London, looking after the College’s nationally important art, archives and special collections and delivering the temporary exhibition programme. She has senior curatorial responsibility for the art collection.
An art historian and curator, Naomi has special interests in printmaking, the history of art education, life drawing, female artists and artists’ engagements with play and games. She has worked with collections ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day across sculpture, painting and the graphic arts including at the University of Reading, the Ashmolean Museum, the Courtauld Gallery and the British Museum. She has also worked closely with contemporary artists and creative practitioners to explore new approaches to historic collections and spaces.
