Leeanne began her museum career 20 years ago. Having originally studied Ancient History and Archaeology, since working with the Fanshawe portrait collection at Valence House her interest is now in seventeenth-century British portraiture.
In 2018 she was an Understanding British Portraits Research Fellow, investigating copies within the Fanshawe collection. She has led on numerous projects to enhance the care of and engagement with the Fanshawe collection. Her ambition is to bring the Fanshawe collection to wider recognition nationally and internationally and to ultimately have the collection and its associated substantial archive Designated.
Today Leeanne manages the museum collection at Valence House, which comprises art, archaeology and social history relating to the history of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
