Felicity MacKenzie completed an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine at the University of Cambridge in 2023. She is now pursuing a PhD in History at the University of Edinburgh alongside freelance research and writing work. Her PhD focuses on the life of the social reformer and geologist, Sir Charles Lyell. In this capacity, she works out of the Sir Charles Lyell Collection archive, which is 'one of the most comprehensive collections relating to nineteenth-century science in the world'.

Felicity has held Research Assistant positions at Noiser Podcasts, Georgetown University and the charity Turn2Us Edinburgh Trust. She has also written for Noiser Podcasts, the University of Bristol newspaper and the Sir Charles Lyell Collection, amongst others. On top of this, she has experience researching, writing and filming sustainability courses for UK university students, including in her role as Social Responsibility and Sustainability Course Developer at the University of Edinburgh and as Director of UK Students for Fairer Fashion. Her work seeks to understand how humans construct meaning, hope and work together towards the social good.
