Ellie Evelyn Orrell is an artist and writer who spent her childhood in a small village set between two hills in north Wales. After receiving an MA (Hons) in Art History and Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews in 2020, she lived in The Hague and London before returning to Wales in order to focus on writing. Her work, which weaves together narrative non-fiction and essays, has been published by Santes Dwynwen, Our Isles, and the Wales Arts Review among others and in 2022, her debut book, An Indigo Summer, was published by Calon. Her work is informed by and responds to art, visual culture, food, society and rurality.
