Alice Insley is assistant curator of historic British art at Tate Britain, with a particular focus on art of the eighteenth century. She previously worked with Derby Museum and Art Gallery whilst undertaking her PhD at the University of Nottingham, which looked at the legacy and reception of Joseph Wright of Derby.

Her most recent projects have included the spotlight displays '1819: Year of Revolution?' and 'John Opie', as well as the 2020 Aubrey Beardsley exhibition at Tate. She wrote the introduction to the new edition of Beardsley's A Book of Fifty Drawings (Tate Publishing, 2020).
