Welcome to the Victorian Gallery here at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery where we have on display a selection of works from our art collection that have been acquired over the last 150 years since our founding in 1874.
2023 marked a year of change for us and presented the opportunity to revitilise our art gallery for the first time in years. With the works off the wall we had the chance to give the space some TLC, a lick of paint in a new colour scheme, refresh the layout to better highlight star items in the collection, and to swap out some paintings allowing for new exciting pieces to be brought in.
We hope you enjoy this companion tour to the gallery designed to be explored and enjoyed both at home and here in person at the museum.
