Tenby Museum & Art Gallery was established in 1878, and is the oldest independent museum in Wales. Tenby was the childhood home of Augustus and Gwen John, and both artists are represented within the collection, along with many very well-known 20th Century Welsh artists, or others who have represented the seaside town. During 2024 Tenby's works on paper will appear on Art UK, and at this point important artists including Nina Hamnett (also born in Tenby), David Jones, Meirion Jones, John Piper, Graham Sutherland and Kyffin Williams will be seen for the first time.
