Taken by Harry Burton on 29 November 1923, this staged photograph shows Howard Carter (left), assisted by Arthur Callendar and an Egyptian team member, wrapping one of the so-called 'guardian' or 'sentinel statues' in preparation for its transport from Tutankhamun's tomb to the 'laboratory' set-up in the nearby tomb of king Seti II, Valley of the Kings, Thebes, Egypt.
