To commemorate the legacy of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown who re-landscaped the park between 1772 and 1782. The Elizabethan manor was surrounded by a deer park holding Red, Fallow and Roe deer; Brown’s landscape changes included the creation of a Ha-Ha to keep livestock out of the formal gardens.
