A quatrefoil shaft with an octagonal conical cap, topped by a wrought iron weather vane with fish design. The shaft stands on a flight of five high circular steps. The steps are medieval and so also, probably, is the shaft, although one of the shaft's attached columns has been restored. It seems likely that this restoration occurred at the time that the strangely elongated cap was added in the 1870s.
