The work is in bronze, from a carved plaster cast and is nearly eight feet long on a plinth, set on a grassy mound. It is a reclining figure of two halves, from Moore's first series to explore the relationship between elements thus disjointed and based on studies of bones and flints. Its carved, rugged and naturalistic quality is well suited to its urban setting.
