The sundial consists of a plinth, a dado with battered sides, and a cornice. It stands amidst flower beds planted with 95 rose bushes in commemoration of the 95 victims of the Hillsborough tragedy on 15th April 1989. Five of the victims had either lived or worked in the Aigburth and neighbouring Mossley Hill areas of Liverpool. Facing towards the sundial are two commemorative benches.
