This statue is of three-year-old, Alice Evelyn Sybil Lee, nicknamed Lalla, daughter of the sculptor. She stands holding a posy of roses behind her back.

the plaque has been restored and sits below the front of the statue: THE ROSE GIRL / THIS STATUE,OF LALLA LEE,WAS CARVED BY HER / FATHER, HERBERT, IN 1908, WHEN SHE WAS THREE. / HERBERT WAS A MASTER BUILDER AND A STONEMASON / HE GAVE THIS STATUE TO CHESTERFIELD TOWN COUNCIL, / ON CONDITION THAT IT SHOULD ALWAYS REMAIN / IN QUEEN'S PARK. / THE FAMILY LIVED IN DARK LANE(NOW PEVERIL RD), / CHESTERFIELD.LALLA DIED IN CHESTERFIELD, IN 1976 / AND HER ASHES WERE SCATTERED AT / HIGHTAE IN SCOTLAND.
