The Navigators' takes the form of a fantastical anthropomorphic ship. The prow is a prognathic male head with set back eyes, a long proboscis-like nose, fleshy lips, the upper covered in fish scales, the lower projecting dramatically. On each side of the hull are a paddlewheel and three oars whose blades are pierced with holes. Two masts shoot up at steep diagonal angles and support two forward-projecting harpoons. Before the masts is a cluster of ship’s chimneystacks. On the poop deck, two heads wearing admiral hats that metamorphose into umbrellas at the back represent perhaps the navigators themselves. The navigators are equipped with a combined telescope and sextant and an armillary sphere. The rear of the poop deck rises up finlike and turns finally into a horn.
