'The Malt Shovel' commemorates the local brewing industry in Burton. Representing the shovel used to add malt in the brewing process, the larger-than-life shovel has a bottle aperture at street level to allow pedestrians to pass through. The shovel is up lit by lighting embedded in the paving, which has a fish motif and an equation fermenting sugar into alcohol.
