In the foreground are the waters of a river, with a rocky shore at far left. Two men are on the shore at the water's edge. The leftmost man stands, his back towards the viewer. He wears a white hat, a white cloth at his waist, and he carries what appears to be a round shield behind his left shoulder. The man at right sits facing the viewer. There is a basket or vessel on the ground to right of the seated man. Behind the two men is a ruined stone structure with an archway. Trees and plants grow on top of the structure and from its walls.
