A free-standing sculpture is set in the centre of the enlarged York stone pavement in Station Square. The spiralling stainless steel base swirls up to a circle supporting five swans with their necks and wings stretched out as they fly north. The intertwined strands of the spiral are supported by a pyramidic base. 'The migration of peoples between Lowestoft and Denmark and Hans Anderson’s story of the Wild Swans inspired the piece', C. Normandel.
