An arrangement of gigantic scallop shells (4 tonnes of steel) the upper edge pierced with the words 'I hear those voices that will not be drowned' – a line from Benjamin Britten's 1945 opera 'Peter Grimes'. The shore-facing back has a non-reflective brown finish while the inside facing the sea is a polished silver finish. As well as a sculpture, the piece also serves as a shelter and a seat.
