A larger than life-size portrait statue showing Richard Cobden standing and addressing a meeting. His right arm is outstretched with index finger raised, and his other hand is in his waistcoat. Cobden was a manufacturer and Liberal MP. He was associated with two major free trade campaigns, the Anti-Corn Law League and the Cobden–Chevalier Treaty.
