Abraham Jobson, DD, was made Vicar of Wisbech in 1802. He is remembered for his charity bequests to education and the church, and he was greatly involved in the provision of the Chapel of Ease, known as the Octagon Church, previously situated in the Old Market. This portrait cost 30 guineas; the money was raised by public subscription in 1823.
