A rectangular panel of linen, perhaps a cushion cover or similar; embroidered with an all over scrolling stem pattern with flower heads, leaves and pea pods plus insects and a bird perching on a stem; worked in polychrome silk threads, gilt metal thread and applied silver spangles; much of the embroidery is in raised work with the top layer of some of the peapods peeling back to reveal metal thread peas, flowers worked over padding and detached wings to the insects; the embroidery appears complete within a single stitched line border worked in blue thread.
