Downward-pointing large green bomb case - weighing 500 kg - with two polished brass emblems of the Royal Engineers front and back. Set on a simple brick-and-flint pedestal - with brass plaques on all sides commemorating the dead. Unique memorial to the 26 Royal Engineer Bomb Disposal squadron and the men who died clearing land mines on the coastal stretch between Yarmouth and Holkham 1944-53. The German bomb casing was supplied by the Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal Unit at Wimbish in Essex. The downward orientation of the bomb picks up on the design of the emblem fixed to the casing.
