A sculpted memorial partly backed by what appears to be slate. The top section is two mourning women standing either side of a short column on which is placed a wreathed urn. The woman on the right is holding a bird feeding some chicks, the woman on the left is holding a sword. Above this is the family coat of arms. Sir Peter de Havilland was a lawyer and served as Bailiff of Guernsey from 1810 to 1821

Born 7 November 1747 died 14 April 1821. Advocate and Jurat, then appointed Bailiff of Guernsey in 1810; the left side panel gives details of his first wife, Carterette; and the right panel details of his second marriage to Emilia
