Four large limestone boulders are joined by a dark pebbled concrete infill. There are two distinct parts: a fatally injured miner, half-buried under mining debris, only his head, one arm and one hand remain visible; and to his right a woman stands on a boulder, hands on hips, head bowed but with a look of determination to fight for justice. This figure is sited so that she faces the site of the former Cadeby Main pit.
