A life-sized bronze figure with inscribed stainless-steel strips of text, close to the meridian line and forming part of 'Meridian', a millennium public art project. Placed close to the Library, a place of quiet thought, education, and learning, and said to be contemplative, trying to work things out. The metal strip on the ground shows a break in the meridian line with one section held in the hands of the figure. A separate band of text is on the ground on the roadside of the library and is thought to mark the meridian line.
