A memorial unveiled on the 100th year anniversary of the colliery disaster at Mardy. A second plaque commemorates the closure of the coal mine. It has a raised brick-built platform base with a coal tub on rails, and two ornamental wrought iron panels carry the dates '1885 / 1985'.
