The sitter was the youngest daughter of Francis, 4th Earl of Bedford. She married Francis Newport, the 1st Earl of Bradford. There is a portrait of Lord William Russell, son of Francis 4th Earl of Bedford, signed by Priwizer at Woburn and he is recorded as painting small panel portraits of the Earl's other children.
