The sculpture’s title refers to an ancient Brittanic tribe. Some of the featured designs reflect Hawken’s interest in Celtic brooches, and other patterns refer to cloud formations on the planet Jupiter. On the back is a shape based on a cod’s skull, found by the artist while beachcombing at Dungeness.
