Gourd and Turban Squash are from a large series of works that celebrate the voluminous, sculptural formal qualities of these particular vegetables. These drawings also serve as an information gathering process for the sculptor, with the subtleties of form being transcribed to future work. The detail and scale of all the drawings make them fascinating, intriguing and reminiscent of scientific drawings.
