A large red and rusted steel spiral ending with a flying figure, the first artwork for Crawley's 'Art on Roundabouts' scheme. The artist described his vision for the work in this way: 'there are three broad elements to the work. They are a (Celtic) spiral, a human figure with arms outstretched and by association, the ideal of a plane taking off. The link between the figure and the idea of the plane calls to mind the playground games where children run around with outstretched arms. The resulting form lends itself to a number of possible interpretations'.
