Half-length, three-quarter left side portrait of Eliza Crosfield, a self-educated young woman who was married to William Crosfield, of which there is an accompanying portrait work. She has a kindly face and dark hair, and is seated on a red chair, wearing a lace bonnet and delicate lace shawl over a black dress. Her right hand, which is just out of the frame, holds a lace handkerchief.
