This painting shows the demolition of Churchill House in 2007 as part of a scheme to re-develop Bath's Southgate area. Local artist Gerald Cains was reported to have painted this scene from the car park of nearby Bath Spa Railway Station.

Churchill House was built in the 1930s as the headquarters of the electricity company. It had an Art Deco façade. The demolition of the building was very controversial and there was a prominent local campaign to save the building.
