In 2004, The All England Lawn Tennis Club commissioned a Championships Artist to create a collection of artworks that reflected the various scenes and events of The Championships. Since then, several pieces of art have been commissioned from a diverse range of artists, including Luis Morris whose work is exhibited here. Morris was the Championships Artist in 2007, the same year construction began on the Centre Court roof. He worked hard to capture the existing structure in this painting before the building morphed into its new shape. Here, he illustrates the view of a spectator seated at the very back, only able to see a small glimpse of the sky.
