Steve des Landes has created two aluminium panels that represent the rich industrial and social heritage of the area. The first panel tells the story of the Besses o’ th’ Barn Band, one of the oldest brass bands in the world. The second panel depicts the washer women of the now demolished Lilly Hill Steam Laundry as well as tradesman, masons and blacksmiths from Whitefield.
