The front face of the altar is carved into three panels with scallop patterns, divided by slender Corinthian columns. Behind the altar is a back border and mantelpiece with rinceau decoration (a continuous, wavy stemlike motif from which smaller leafy stems or groups of leaves branch out at regular intervals).
